Le Chaudron is a facility dedicated to contemporary amplified music. It was built in 2006 by the Aurillac Basin Agglomeration Community (CABA)—with support from local, regional, and national authorities—to meet the needs of local bands and foster the development of contemporary amplified music. As the facility's owner, the local authority funds the purchase and replacement of musical and office equipment. Management of the facility has been entrusted to the association Love Mi Tendeur.

The rates ensure accessibility for everyone, regardless of age, social background, or musical style.

At Le Chaudron, artists have access to:

  • Two rehearsal studios, one of which is connected to a control room and also serves as a recording studio. From floor to ceiling, the facility offers the best possible soundproofing, ensuring optimal acoustics.
  • A social and break area for conversation, writing, and research; the venue also functions as a resource center featuring magazines, classified ads, L’Officiel de la musique (music industry directory), guides on setting up associations, books on music, and more.
  • Guitars, drums, bass guitars, amplifiers, mixing consoles, digital studio equipment, microphones, speakers, music stands, etc.
  • Staff members who handle studio access and weekly scheduling, but—most importantly—provide technical advice, assist bands with recording demos and albums, and offer information on technical and artistic training opportunities.
